He married Winney Arrowood December 8, 1851 in Blount Co, TN.⁽²⁾ Winney was born circa 1831 in North Carolina. See her father's family for her ancestry. Winney was the daughter of James Arrowood and Winnie Davis.

Winney died date unknown at age unknown. It seems likely that he was married previously, and Green is his son by the first wife. No record of him could be found in the 1850 Tennessee census book, and he doesn't appear in the index of the 1850 North Carolina census.

Jesse Welch and Winney Arrowood had the following children:

• + 3 ii. Seborn L. Welch was born circa 1853.

• 4 iii. John T. Welch was born in Tennessee circa 1857. John died date unknown at age unknown. He married Martha J. Arrowood December 25, 1881 in Macon Co, NC.⁽³⁾ Martha was born circa 1861 in maybe, Cherokee Co, NC. See her father's family for her ancestry. Martha was the daughter of Humphrey Posey Arrowood and Mary A. (Arrowood). Martha died date unknown at age unknown. He is thought to be the son of Winney Arrowood who married his cousin because the marriage was witnessed by Green Welch, presumably his brother.

• 6 v. Eliza J. Welch was born in Tennessee circa 1860. Eliza died date unknown at age unknown.

3. Seborn L.² Welch (Jesse¹)⁽⁴⁾ was born in Tennessee circa 1853. Seborn died date unknown at age unknown.

He married Pheba E. Wood January 29, 1869 in Jefferson Co, TN.(5) Pheba was born May 1850 in North Carolina. Pheba died date unknown at age unknown.
