around 1616. John Markham's transport to Virginia was paid for by Thomas Stamp, who on 24 Feb 1638/9 was granted 500 acres in James City
County, upon a swamp at the head of Lawnes Creek, adjacent to Nicholas Reynolds.(1)

Thomas Marchlam of Lower Norfolk Co. VA (#6138) was born in England maybe around 1626. Thomas Marchlam's
transport to Virginia was paid for by Mr. Thomas Lambert, who on 1 June 1648 was granted 750 acres in Lower Norfolk County, known as
Paggetts Neck, at the head of a Little Creek in Linhaven Parish, near the Indian Bridge, near Henry Snayle's land, toward a path leading
from Mr. Lidneys to Capt. Yardlys, down a branch parting same from Capt. Thorowgood, dec'd(2)

Timothy Markham of Henrico Co. VA (#6143) was born in England maybe around 1633. Timothy Markham's transport to
Virginia was paid for by Thomas Wells, who on 24 March 1665/6 was granted 260 acres, 2 rods, 24 poles in Henrico County, on the north side
of Appomattox River at the head of said Wells old patent.(3)

Ed. Markham of Henrico Co. VA (#6139) was born in England maybe around 1635. Ed. Markham's transport to Virginia
was paid for by William Walthall, merchant, who on 4 Oct 1657 was granted 1600 acres in Henrico County, on the north side of Appomattock
River in Bristol Parish, adjacent Thomas Lyne, which included 750 acres purchased from John Baugh.(4)

John Markham of Westmoreland Co. VA (#6140) was born in England maybe around 1636. John Markham's transport to
Virginia was credited to Mr. Christopher Harris, who on 7 Oct 1658 was granted 2000 acres in Westmoreland County, on the south side of the
Potomac on the southwest side of Yosockcocomocoe Creek. A note appearing in the list of persons transported says "Assigned by Mr. Jno
Snellinge."(5)

Edward Markham of New Kent Co. VA (#6089) was born maybe around 1640. Edward died before 20 April 1682 in maybe,
New Kent Co, VA, at age 41. 200 acres of land in New Kent Co, VA which Edward Markham died seized of was mentioned in a grant of 20
April 1682.(6)

Virginia was paid for by George Gilbert and Richard Scruddy, who on 3 June 1663 were granted 1000 acres in James City County, on the north
side of the swamp of the Chikahominy River, adjacent land of the said Scruddy.(7)

Richard Markham of Rappahannock Co. VA (#6087) was born in England maybe around 1648. Richard Markham's
transport to Virginia was paid for by Mr. Warwick Cammock, who on 22 Apr 1670 was granted 1923 acres in Rappahannock County, in the freshes
on the south side of the river and north side of Puemondsem Creek.(8)

William Markham of Stafford Co. VA (#6088) was born in England maybe around 1655. 29 Dec 1677 Lt. Col. Cad.
Jones and Mr. David Jones were granted 14,114 acres in Stafford Co, VA on both sides of the Accotynk and Pohick Rivers for the transport of
282 persons, including Wm Markeham.(11)

tranported by Samuel Bloomfield and partners for a grant of 2359 acres between the Rappahannock River and the head or run of the Mattopany

Thomas Markam of Essex Co. VA (#6092) was born in England maybe around 1671. Thomas Markam was among 10 persons
imported by John Amis for a grant of 500 acres on Cockleshell Creek in Essex Co, VA 29 April 1693.(13)
He might be the father of John Markham, parent
of the Orange County, NC Marcums who were born in Caroline County, VA, which was spawned from Essex and two other counties in 1727.
