• 1820 Abner Markham age 26-44 was in the census.

• Arthur Marcum the Rev War vet settled there in the early 1800s.

  1849 spawned Scott County.

• Arthur Marcum and most of his family resided in the region that was split off. It appears that Arthur Marcum Jr. may have resided in a small region that was returned from Scott to Campbell before 1860.

• 1799 Beverly Markham was on a tax list.

  1809 spawned Lincoln County.

• 1799 Josiah Markrum was on a tax list.

Lincoln County

1809 created from Bedford.

• 1820 Arthur Markham was in Lincoln County. One source suggests that he may have been the Arthur Markham who had been in Georgia.

Scott County

1849 created from Anderson, Campbell, Fentress, Morgan.

• Arthur Marcum the Rev War vet and his family were early settlers of Campbell County who resided in the region that was split off in 1849 to form Scott County. It appears that Arthur Marcum Jr. may have resided in a small region that was returned from Scott to Campbell before 1860.

Sumner County

1786 created from Davidson.

1799 spawned Wilson County.

• 1811 Thomas Marcum married Nancy Trible.
• 1816 Elisha Markham was on a tax list. In 1820 he was age 45+.
• 1820 census listed David Marhan (45+), Elisha Markham (45+), Sabrina Markum (45+), and George Markham (26-44).

Warren County

1807 created from White.

White County

1806 created from Overton, Jackson, Smith.

1807 spawned Warren County.

• 1817 Abner Markham married Sarah Franks. In 1820 they were age 16-25.
• 1820 census listed Markhams William (45+), Abner (16-25), and Nathaniel (16-25).

Wilson County

1799 created from Sumner.
