Butner, Corvin, Farley

First Generation

1. Unknown North Carolina1 Butner, son of Adam Butner and Mrs._Adam (Butner), (#832) was born circa 1750. See his father's family for more information.

This person is a collector for various Butners of the 3rd (or 4th) generation, perhaps grandchildren or great-grandchildren of Adam Butner of Maryland.

Second Generation

2. Rowan County2 Butner (Unknown North Carolina1) (#4352) birth date unknown.

This is a collector for unconnected Butners found in the 1850 census of Rowan County NC. Some of them must be children of Levi, while others may be children of John.

Rowan County Butner had the following children:

3. Unknown Tennessee2 Butner (Unknown North Carolina1) (#4010) was born in probably, North Carolina circa 1780.

This is a collector for Butners born after 1800 in Tennessee whose parents have not been identified.

Who might this be? One researcher's grandfather thought his ancestor was named Peter. Could this be someone who never was recorded in any civil record? Perhaps a Peter the 2nd, son of Adam's son Peter who died, apparently childless, in 1784? Such a one might also be the father of Peter Butner of Virginia, who was born around 1800.

Or, one might ask, whatever happened to Edward Butner of Rowan County, son of Adam's son James?

If you've got a suggestion for another candidate, please send email to the author at rdclark@lainet.co m.
