First Generation

1. James1 Butner, son of Adam Butner and Mrs._Adam (Butner), was born circa 1729. See his father's family for more information. James died 1788 in probably, Rowan Co, NC, at age 59.

James Butner appeared as a witness at a grand jury hearing investigating Micajah Plummer for stealing Adam Butner's horse August 1750 in Frederick Co, MD.(1) From this event are speculated his parents, and his birth date 21 years before.
