Buck, Pelsue, Winn

First Generation

1. Samuel1 Buck, son of Ephraim Buck and Sarah Brooks, (#502) was born in Woburn, Middlesex Co, MA Nov13, 1682.(1) See his father's family for more information.

He married Hannah (Buck) circa 1708. (Hannah (Buck) is #1733.) Hannah was born circa 1685.

He resided in Wilmington, Middlesex Co, MA Oct 15, 1751.(2) He is the only Samuel known to have lived in Wilmington who could have been the elder when Ephraim's son, Samuel, was called "junior." Genealogy of the Herbert Hoover Family traces the ancestry of the president through Samuel's daughter Sarah, who is said to have married Jacob Winn. Woburn Records of Births, Deaths, and Marriages records this marriage in 1743, calling the parties both of Woburn. However, Genealogical and Personal Memoirs of Worcester, Massachusetts suggests that the family of Samuel Buck may have removed to Killingly, Connecticut, in the 1730s. No marriage of any of Samuel Senior's other children in recorded in Woburn.

Samuel Buck and Hannah (Buck) had the following children:

Second Generation

3. Samuel2 Buck (Samuel1) (#4114) was born in Woburn, Middlesex Co, MA May 7, 1711.(8)

He married Rachel (Rebecca) Roberts Mar 6, 1734 in Wilmington, Middlesex Co, MA. (Rachel (Rebecca) Roberts is #4817.) Rachel was the daughter of David Roberts and Rachel (Roberts).

She was called Rebecca Roberts of Woburn when her marriage was recorded in Wilmington, but subsequent records of the birth of Samuel's children in Wilmington give the wife's name as Rachel. Samuel Buck's book calls her Rachel, but the author seems to have been unfamiliar with Wilmington records.

He apparently moved away from his father's family in Wilmington to Killingly, Connecticut, sometime in the 1740s or 1750s, joining his wife's family who had moved there earlier.

Samuel Buck and Rachel (Rebecca) Roberts had the following children:

5. Zebadiah2 Buck (Samuel1) (#4693) was born in Woburn, Middlesex Co, MA Aug 29, 1719.(12)

Some sources(94) say he was the father of Richard, Aaron and Barney (twins), and Amy, but those names do not appear in the register of births at Killingly, and seem to have been born before Joseph was married.

Joseph Buck and Dorcas (Buck) had the following children:
