Thomas Arwood pases away at his home. A former citizen of Cherokee County dies in Marietta.

Mr. Thomas Warren Arwood, a Confederate veteran, and for many years a resident of Cherokee county, died at his home in Marietta, Sunday night, February 22, 1925.

He was born in Dekalb County April 15, 1839 and was the son of John Evans and Mary Graham Arwood. He enlisted in the seventh Georgia regiment, Co., E, in May 1861 and served in many inportant battles until he was seriously wounded in 1864. He married Miss Mattie E. Brady, on February 13, 1873. For many years after the war he engaged in the mercantile business on a small scale, but had been on employee of the W. & A. Railroad for thirty years preceding his death. He was a loyal member of the Methodist Church, South since his young manhood, and led an upright, Christian life, "full of honor and good works."

The funeral was held at the Holly Springs Methodist Church and was conducted by his pastor, Rev. R. C. Cleckler, of Marietta. He was buried beside his wife who died seventeen years ago.

He is survived by three brothers, two sisters, eighteen grand children, six great grand children and the following children: Mrs F. A. Saye, Mrs F. M. Furguson, Mrs Ida Arwood Cole, Mrs R. F. Smith, Mr W. W. Arwood (other names not legible)
