In the 1820 Census, Drewry was listed as a head of household in Lincoln Co, NC.(7) He was age 26-44, residing with a woman 16-25 and two boys and two girls, all under age 10.

In the 1830 Census, Drewry was listed as a head of household in Lincoln Co, NC.(8) He and his wife were in their 30s, residing with a man in his 20s, a girl 15-19, a boy and a girl 10-15, two girls 5-9, and a boy under age 5. There was a female slave age 24-35 with two slave boys and a girl, all under age 10.

In the 1840 Census, Drewry was listed as a head of household in Lincoln Co, NC.(9) He was in his 40s, residing with a woman in her 50s and another woman in her 80s. There were also a young man and woman, both in their 20s, a girl 15-19, and a boy and a girl 10-14. There was a female slave age 24-35, with two slave boys and a girl age 10-23.

1 Aug 1850 in the Census of 1850, Drewry was listed as a head of household in Gaston Co, NC.(10) Gaston County was formed in 1846 out of Lincoln County.

3. William3 Arrowood of Gaston Co. (Drewry (Drury)2, John1) (#1638) was born in North Carolina 7 Jan 1817.(13) William died 22 April 1911 at 94 years of age.(14) William was buried at Long Creek Presbyterian Ch. in Gaston Co, NC.(15)

She married James McNair January 3, 1843 in Lincoln Co, NC. (James McNair is #1722.) James was born September 21, 1815 in Lincoln Co, NC.(47) James was the son of Enoch McNair. James died 24 Oct. 1902 in Jacksonville, AR, at 87 years of age.(48)

7. Benjamin Franklin3 Arrowood (Drewry (Drury)2, John1) (#1648) was born in North Carolina 18 Dec 1829. Birth date calculated from gravestone: Died April 1, 1863, aged 33y 3m 14d. Benjamin died 2 Apr 1863 in Lynchburg, VA, at 33 years of age.(60) Benjamin was buried at Long Creek Presbyterian Ch. in Gaston Co, NC.(61)

28 June 1860 in the Census of 1860, Benjamin was listed as a head of household in Gaston Co, NC.(63)

In Iredell County, on August 12, 1862 he enlisted in Company H of the 37th Regiment of North Carolina Troops. He died of pneumonia at Lynchburg, Virginia, April 2, 1863.(64)

He married Mary Virginia Pharr 1879 in Mecklenburg Co, NC.(74) (Mary Virginia Pharr is #1378.) Mary was born circa 1850.

Conflicting evidence states that William was born circa 1849.(75) 1900 William was listed in the 1900 Census as a head of household in York Co, SC. The November 16, 1909 obituary of John F. Arrowood mentioned his brother William residing in Clover, SC.

Rev. William Butler Arrowood and Mary Virginia Pharr had the following children:

13. Rev. Robert Sylvanus4 Arrowood (William3, Drewry (Drury)2, John1)(79) (#1646) was born in Gaston Co, NC July 28, 1854. Robert died October 31, 1919 in Sanford, NC, at 65 years of age.
