Obituary of John Raleigh

RALEIGH

John Raleigh, 85, of Haddix died Sunday, Sept. 16 at U.K. Medical Center of a heart condition. He was a son of the Late Jim and Malinda Davis Raleigh, a retired farmer, a native of Breathitt County and a member of the Free Pentecostal Church of God.

His wife, Mrs. Ellen Arrowood Raleigh departed this life in 1963. Survivors include four sons, Woodrow Raleigh, Indian Fields, Ky. Hargis and Edward Raleigh, both of Clio, Mich., Walter Raleigh, Whick; four daughters, Mrs. Lizzie Spurlock, Haddix; Mrs. Linda Turner, Combs; Mrs. America Sebastian, Sebastina's Branch, Mrs. Martha Herald, Whick, a sister Mrs. Cinda Thomas, Newport; 46 grandchildren and42 great grandchildren.

Services were held at the Bob Gabbard Funeral Home Chapel Tuesday, Sept. 18 at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Johnny Herald officiating. Burial was in the Deaton-Raleigh Cemetery at Whick.
