In the 1840 Census, Jesse was listed as a head of household in Macon Co, AL.⁽⁵⁾ Again, he was in his 40s and his wife was in her 30s. There was a boy 15-19, a girl 10-15, a boy and two girls 5-9, and two boys and a girl under age 5.

In the Census of 1850, Jesse was listed as a head of household in Coffee Co, AL.⁽⁶⁾ In the Census of 1860, Jesse was listed as a head of household in Coffee Co, AL.⁽⁷⁾ In the 1850 and 1860 census records, his occupation was given as hatter.

Jesse Arwood of Alabama and Mary (Polly) Cobb had the following children:

Sarah died January 1, 1913 in Brewton, Escamba Co, AL, at age 68.⁽²²⁾ Sarah was divorced from George W. Arwood circa 1864 in probably, Coffee Co, AL. Although no record of this event is known, according to her family bible, she remarried in 1869, and George evidently remarried around 1865.

He married Sarah (Arwood) circa 1865 in probably, Coffee Co, AL. Sarah was born circa 1841 in Alabama. He married Georgia A. Folks circa 1897 in probably, Coffee Co, AL. Georgia was born May 1860 in Alabama. Georgia was the daughter of Jerusha (Folks).

In the Census of 1860, George was listed as a head of household in Coffee Co, AL.⁽²³⁾ George was divorced from Sarah Elizabeth King circa 1864 in probably, Coffee Co, AL. Although no record of this event is known, according to her family bible, she remarried in 1869, and George evidently remarried around 1865.
