1. Garrett Deweese¹ Arrowood, son of James Arrowood and Elizabeth Britton, was born in Burnsville, Buncombe Co, NC 29 Aug 1825.⁽¹⁾ See his father's family for more information. He may have been named for Rev. Garrett Deweese, who was a minister in Buncombe County, NC. Garrett died 30 April 1906 at age 80.⁽²⁾ His body was interred in Kingston, Meeker Co, MN.⁽³⁾

He married Louisa Jane Wells 23 Oct 1848 Paintsville, Johnson Co, KY.⁽⁴⁾ Louisa was born 6 June 1830 in Floyd Co, KY.⁽⁵⁾ Louisa was the daughter of Moses Wells and Margaret Hillman. Louisa died 11 Oct 1911 Nevis, Hubbard Co, MN, at age 81.⁽⁶⁾ Her body was interred in Kingston, Meeker Co, MN.⁽⁷⁾ The author of Early Families of Eastern and Southeastern Kentucky and Their Descendants⁽⁸⁾ says Louisa, daughter of Moses, married Thomason Coates, and says an unnamed daughter married Garrett Arrowwood. Maybe Garrett is her 2nd husband.

In the Census of 1850, Garrett was listed as a head of household in Johnson Co, KY.⁽⁹⁾ In the Census of 1860, Garrett was listed as a head of household in Johnson Co, KY.⁽¹⁰⁾ In the Census of 1870, Garrett was listed as a head of household in Meeker Co, MN.⁽¹¹⁾ In the 1880 Census, Garrett was listed as a head of household 11 June 1880 in Swan Lake, Meeker Co, MN.⁽¹²⁾ His occupation was given as farmer.

On 17 Nov 1880 Garrett wrote a record of his family, including his parents, himself, and his wife and children. ⁽¹³⁾

• 41 i. Ethel Lavina³ Gardner was born in Dassel, Meeker Co, MN 3 July 1889. She married Walter Riley Dennis 13 June 1913 in Minneapolis, MN. Walter was born 3 March 1889 in St. Paul, MN. Walter was the son of Warren Riley Dennis and Elnory Viola Brainerd.

• 42 ii. Bradford Gardner was born in Dassel, Meeker Co, MN 9 Jan 1891.⁽⁵⁶⁾ Bradford died 2 July 1947 International Falls, Koochiching Co, MN, at age 56.⁽⁵⁷⁾ He married Ameretta Hanson.⁽⁵⁸⁾

12. Laura Belle² Arrowood (Garrett Deweese¹) was born in Dassel, Meeker Co, MN 15 May 1869.⁽⁶²⁾ Laura died 25 Apr 1934 at age 64.⁽⁶³⁾ Her body was interred in Kingston, Meeker Co, MN.⁽⁶⁴⁾

She married Charles G. Moberg 31 January 1888.

She married John Elbert Skeen 29 June 1898 in Dassel, Meeker Co, MN. John was born 5 February 1874 in Hillsborough, Fleming Co, KY. He was listed as Garrett Deweese Arrowood's son-in-law in the 1900 Census in Dassel, Meeker Co, MN.⁽⁶⁹⁾

Minnie Cordelia May Arrowood and John Elbert Skeen had the following children:
